About Me
Prior to her graduate training, Shannon graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a BFA in Graphic Design. She worked at a design firm and later as a freelance designer for ten years.
Dr. Shannon has always been interested in fitness, sports, and living a healthy lifestyle. Her involvement with health and human services has evolved organically via hands-on experience caring for her immediate family and several terminally ill extended family members. These experiences allowed her to minister and assist them in the capacity needed, whether spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or physically. Her personal journey of self-discovery and healing led her to Chinese medicine.
As a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, Dr. Shannon focuses on patient care and clinical results. She enjoys treating everyone who comes through the door and sees each patient as unique. Dr. Shannon has interests in mental health, pain conditions, and chronic illnesses but enjoys treating a wide variety of ailments. She has most recently gotten very interested in helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause. (Check out my Blog post regarding Holistic Approach to Menopause)
Dr. Shannon enjoys discussing all aspects of Chinese Medicine with patients and empowers individuals to find their inner strength to transform and improve their lives through physical care, education, and mentoring.
Her scope of practice includes traditional Chinese acupuncture, cupping, gua sha (dermal friction), tui na (Chinese medical massage), Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, and supplements.
During her downtime, Shannon enjoys spending time in nature, taking long walks, gardening, strength training, and enjoying time with friends and family. She also enjoys doing creative projects and woodworking.
